As part of our Denim Diaries project, we are working with JeansWest to show you how to style two pieces of affordable denim, both coming in under $100. In my last post, I spoke about purchasing items you love and pieces add you want to invest in.  Investing in key pieces does not necessary always mean buying the most expensive thing you can find. For me, it’s about finding a piece which is good quality, which you love and feel great in.

I have a busy lifestyle and a toddler – I work from home, juggling business, housework, grocery shopping, childcare drop offs/pick ups and various coffee meetings daily and I basically live in denim. My main priority is comfort and fit. I love my jeans to be snug and supportive, with a good amount of stretch. The Daisy Skinny Jean is a 7/8th jean with a freyed hem (perfect campanion for the ankle boot) and is made from a soft, super stretch denim. They have just the right amount of distressing and detail to keep them interesting. And they come in just under the $100 mark at $99.99 which is such a great price for an investment piece that you will get SO much wear from.

As many of you know, I am also a huge advocate of the double denim movement. I will pretty much pair denim anything – denim jeans with denim jackets, denim shorts with denim shirts, denim shirts with denim overalls … you get the gist. The key for me is a slightly different wash and interesting layers to break it up, particularly for Winter. In this outfit, I have styled the Daisy Skinny Jean with the Tessy Denim Jacket.

The deep blue indigo wash of the jean is the perfect mix with the lighted Tessy jacket. Also super soft, this denim jacket is a classic style making it a really versatile wardrobe staple and perfect for layering. I have layered it over the Nadia Longline Cardigan in Grey Marle. If it was a typically freezing cold day in Melbourne, I would further add a puffer jacket over the top of my denim jacket (cause you can never have too many layers!).

Pulled together with tan boots and handbag, this Winter outfit is simple, cosy, styl8ish and super versatile.

JeansWest are also kindly participating in our Denim Diaries campaign in support of Jeans for Genes Day and together with all our other collaboration partners this month, have donated $50 toward this fabulous project so thanks SO much guys!!
