16 Oct Weekend Retreat with AirBNB
There are times you want to get away for the weekend and explore hitting up coffee shops, local stores, markets and eateries. And then there are times you want to get away and stand still.
With all the hustle and bustle that is life presently, especially with our reno in full swing and Hubby working most weekends, that’s exactly what we needed recently. And thanks to AirBNB, we found the PERFECT hideaway.
Over Grand Final weekend, we found our way to Duck Tree Lodge, a beautiful bush lodging nestled amongst the trees in Woodend, aprox 1 hour drive from Melbourne. Our only two requirements were a TV, so Rob could watch the game and peace, quiet and space.
And Duck Tree Lodge most certainly did not disappoint. Situated on 4 acres of bushland, the house was beautifully decked out with all comforts, a fully stocked kitchen and a cosy fireplace. But it was all the outdoor amenities that made it such a special place. A covered BBQ area was the perfect space for some celebratory footy snags whilst Luka made full use of the cubby, swing and sandpit. There was also a 1/2 basketball court and plenty of space to run around and spot the wildlife.
We popped out for a couple of short drives to nearby Trentham (be sure to pick up some Sourdough at Red Beard Bakery) and Kyneton to grab coffee but otherwise spent the weekend relaxing at the house, outside or by the fire. I had quite limited reception which was also a blessing and forced a mini digital detox and all in all, we came home feeling relaxed and refreshed.
We will definitely be making it an annual retreat x thanks so much to AirBNB for shouting us our weekend away!!
