NEW BEGINNINGS FAIR x

15 Aug NEW BEGINNINGS FAIR x

There is a new kid on the block in the entrepreneur festival game.

The New Beginnings Fair is a collection of industry workshops, inspirational speakers and an opportunity to meet start-up vendors in a cool, down-to-earth setting. The speaker line up is killer and includes our good friend Justine Flynn, Co-Founder of Thankyou.

The next fair is this Friday 19th August in Melbourne and New Beginnings have offered all you babes $10 off your ticket (just purchase via this link or enter sneakersandsoul in the promo code section). I look forward to seeing some of you there, what an opportunity to connect with like-minded peeps and both aspiring and highly successful entrepreneurs.

And we were fortunate enough to catch up with co-founder Anika over a coffee to find out more. Enjoy the quick 5 questions x

1. What is New Beginnings Fair?

It’s an unique and interactive event for entrepreneurs / small business owners. Set in a relaxed environment we aren’t your boring conference or trade show style event instead its more of a festival vibe with inspiring speakers, practical workshops and a vendor market where you can meeting awesome businesses that can help you start or grow your own business. There’s also food and drink pop ups so you can refuel throughout the action packed day.

We launched in Sydney earlier this year and are super excited to be bringing it to Melbourne on Friday 19th August.

2. How was the idea born?

We’re a husband and wife team behind NBF and the concept was literally born in the clouds – we were on a flight to Hamilton Island for my mum’s b’day and we started brainstorming ways we could combine our different skill sets to work on a project we were both super passionate about. It grew pretty quickly from there and we were lucky to have some awesome brands involved from day one.

3. What is your #1 piece of advice for budding entrepreneurs?

Just do it – I think so many people are worried about the what if it doesn’t work or waiting for the perfect time/opportunity etc. I think its so important to back yourself and try.

4. What is your biggest fear in business? How do you overcome it?

Theres definitely times when you question things and self-doubt looms its ugly head – for me its been the fear of people not getting what we are all about and therefore not turning up to our Fair. I think ensuring you have a great support network around you is super important. I’m so grateful I’ve got so many awesome people in my life, many who run their own business and some times its just a quick catch up with them (sometimes just to vent) that puts things into perspective.

5) Your mantra …

What’s the worst that could happen… (i repeat this to myself so many times to over come moments of self doubt)
